Chromite Mining in Kapisa Province , Afghanisatn

The Badam area in Maidan Wardak province, Afghanistan, covers approximately 40 square kilometers and is known to have significant chromite deposits. Chromite is an important mineral resource with a wide range of industrial applications, including the production of stainless steel, chrome chemicals, and refractory materials.

Historically, Afghanistan has relied heavily on the export of raw chromite ore, missing out on the higher-value opportunities associated with domestic processing and value-addition. In an effort to address this, the Ashna Afghan Land Company has expressed interest in investing in the chromite mining operations in the Badam area.
